So HBS has 5 essay questions and none of them explicitly asks you about Why HBS? I do realise that an arguement can be made about putting in the Why HBS part across in your essays but doing so may dilute my content. Am not sure what to do. Any ideas?

Wow .. I had never seen HBS questions before. I must say that it is interesting that they do not ask for a "Why HBS". And the first glance doesn't really show me where else you can fit the "Why HBS". Maybe you shouldn't try to fit the "Why HBS" in any essay in that case?

my theory is that HBS knows and believes it's the top B-school out there, and with a 90% yield, it really doesn't need people to shower them with praise about why people would chose HBS over other schools, because people already do.

Thus, it doesn't really matter to them that you have to really show they're not a "backup", since that nearly never happens.

Just my hypothesis

If you get invited to interview, it will be discussed thoroughly.
I also assume that you would be expected to mention it somewhere in the essays (although not as extensively as in other schools' apps.).
