So I'm sending my GSB application but I'm a little bit puzzled. How the schools measure the word count?
I use the Apple Pages when I'm in my house, however, at work I use the Microsoft Word, and never they count the same number of words. My first GSB essay has 1498 words for the Microsoft and 1520 for Apple.
I found out that words with hyphen such as: self-made, over-the-counter, are counted as separate words by the Apple applicative and as one word by Microsoft's. In which should I rely on?

Hmm, from what I have read on this forum 1520 on a 1500 limit essay should be ok, no one actually counts the words and they would notice it if more than 10% over limit. So, I would say dont worry about it either way at least for a 1500 limit essay.
