Hi!
I got wait listed at Boston College.
I have read a lot about what to do when wait listed.
However, I can only guess about what weakness my application would've had.
They have mentioned not to get in touch with the adcom members and bug them........
In such a scenario, what should one do?? I have a 640 on the GMAT. Should I take it again??
I have also recently moved on to join a startup, should I mention that??

hrm, I haven't read that chapter yet in Montauk's book, but I would probably politely call the adcom and ask how you can update your profile with major changes (like work experience, GMAT score) if need be. It's a legitimate question and you're not bothering them about your waitlist status (make sure you don't ask about that!).
If they say there's no way to update your profile, then you can't do much about it (never piss the adcom off). But most schools should give you a way to email a short update to your application. I know Stanford, Berkeley, and UCLA all just told me to email a specific email address with my promotion updates.

If you have the time, I would retake the gmat and push for 700+ At BC, that would put you in the top group of students. Of course, this doesn't guarantee you to come off the wait list. It will simply move you to the top. There's no guarantee anyone will come off the wait list, so it might be an act of futility.
But, if you have the time, try to get yourself a 700+
