Haha, river, don't kill me. I'm just throwing this out there. I will
most likely still finish the application, since I'm so close, but if all motivation dies after my first admit (UCLA), there is the possibility of not completing it. I will list my analysis here, and maybe I'll learn some new arguments one way or the other from my esteemed and loved colleagues at GMATClub.
Pros for completing the application:
- Kellogg is a great school, great fit, top 5 name brand
- I submitted my $225 fee already with Part I (grr...)
- My 2 recommenders already submitted their recs
- I finished all the application already (except for essays)
- I spent the money and time flying to Chicago to visit Kellogg (and GSB) and did really enjoy my time at Kellogg (and also talking to rhyme at GSB)
- I get to have a chance to go to the same school as river and a bunch of others in the Chicago area
- My essays just need reworking to fit Kellogg's questions.
- Bragging rights if I get in to a UE (this is a low priority, but thought I just throw it out there

)
Cons for completing the application:
- As great as Kellogg is, the weather there makes me think twice
- I would only pick Kellogg over UCLA, and even then, a tough choice because of the "fit" issue with my future goals (entrepreneurship, business in Asia, living in Cali, powerful entrepreneurship center, etc...). Haas and Stanford would win hands down, so less than a 50% chance I would go to Kellogg now (if I get in), and might drop even more if I can manage another admit.
- I still need to write 5 essays, albeit the content is mostly there, just need the flow and why Kellogg.
- I can declare my application life over if I choose not to apply to Kellogg
