Now a days 1 year MBA from India is fast catching up. People are not only getting really good salaries but also they are getting international/national placements in senior level of management. All the major schools are really reputated (may not be in International arena but they still have recognisable brand name like ISB recently appearing in top 20 of world's best 1 year MBA program).
Now my question is if one is getting admission in top league Indian colleges as well as in Ivy league schools, which one to go for. Considering that cost of education in India is perhaps 1/3rd of that in US and moreover it is effectively same level of jobs that people will get from passing out from either schools.

If you want to work in the US after your MBA, you move to the US. The recognition of the course is fine, and I am sure it is very good, but there are key things to consider:
Network
Location
Opportunity
It isn't decided by the fact that some people manage to achieve certain things. Some people from Stanford go on and form google - it isn't a good data set. For a full set of international opportunities given international labor laws, you are better to study where those opportunities are most common to your personal goals.
Beyond those decisions I think the correct schools become clear. To me, MBAs are an American designation and are better learned at their heart (I am from the UK) but many people disagree - which is why there are so many programs of different types and locations. Really, pick what suits your goals best rather than try to save money or cut corners. That way you are more likely to end discontented with your MBA.

i would go for the ivy leagues regardless of the costs mate. this is a no brainer for me. Here's my explanation: I wanna travel and work internationally so I think I would need a degree which is recognised internationally. Now I know ISB is gaining some great reputation and will probably be a great school in the future but do you seriously think that ISB will be better if you are say working in Switzerland or Germany for that matter. The Ivy leagues do have that brand name that goes across cultures and countries so for me if were to get admission into the IVY and ISB at the same time I would surely choose IVY.
