The internship was in the summer of 2005, prior to my senior year. Graduated in May of 2006. I have been at one company since graduating and will be getting the other LOR from my manager where I am employed.

I am going to say that I don't think its the greatest idea in the world - unless you worked particularly closely and you did something truly unique while there. An unpaid internship during college is not professional work experience and is looked at differently.

That being said, if you cant find another good alternative at work, then go ahead. But if I was on the adcom my thoughts might settle on "why not two people from the firm they work at"? (unless the rec is truly outstanding). The last thing you want an adcom member stuck on is questions like that.
