Recriuting Disaster Year: No firms on campus

Just kidding (edit for clarity)

Here's my pile of printed out job postings from the GSB. Piles are being ordered by interest level. Big pile on the end is "rejected" and big pile on the left is "havent read yet." Small piles are "yea" and "maybe".

So those of you all worried that recruiting looks terrible this coming year, worry not, there's fully 1000+ pages of jobs printed there.

I guess my attempt at humour failed. My point was actually that there are a ton of companies recruiting - not that there are few. You can't realistically apply to 100 job postings, so I'm trying to whittle it down to 20 or so. That's why the left hand piles are small - not because there are no good jobs (the reject pile includes places like Goldman)

That's 34.06% less pages than what my uncle's friend's nephew printed out last year. This is going to be a bad year folks, the class of 2011 is doomed. Drop your essays while you still can.

I thought the top schools impose a printing limit per semester (even though you pay $40k a year, you can't print more than $10 worth per semester).

This a fair point. I didn't have to, but honestly, its really quite cumbersome to sit there and click through hundreds and hundreds of these things writing down which ones you want to pursue (There's a lot of "Wait, did I see this one already?"). I figured that after I'm done with the batch, I can give it to someone else who I'm sure would be happy to have it.
