coadman,

I'm in the same boat. I'm planning to ask a co-worker who is not my direct supervisor, but who has a higher title than I do. I work frequently with this person so, even though they aren't exactly my direct supervisor, they can still answer the questions asked in each school's LOR.

I was thinking along the same lines. One of the schools I am applying to mentions that the same 2 people can write LORs, but they should be new letters.

As a reapplicant, you are looking for ways to show how your application has improved. Be it a promotion, a new EC, or a new job altogether, I think new endeavors bring new people into your life. Think about someone new who has gotten to know you as a result of your "new role." They might be a good candidate for a LOR because they can speak to what new experiences you are gaining, plus they are another person in your corner. That never hurts!
