Hey everyone, first post so take it easy on me :) I am looking to apply to business schools.

UG GPA: 3.8, Commerce Degree at the University of Victoria
GMAT: 720

I have 5 years work experience at Deloitte and am a CA.

I'm Canadian and will be applying to Sauder, Ivey and Rotman, any schools in the States I should be looking at? I would love Kellogg/Wharton but not sure how w/e at Deloitte is looked upon in the b-school admission process, or if my GPA and GMAT is good enough, any advice from anyone? Should I retake the GMAT?

Hi sixwings,

I'm new to the gmat process and mba application however I got this from a friend who has gone through the process for the GMAT averages at the top US schools:

Harvard Business School : Range 550-800 ; Middle 50% Range 700-750
Stanford Graduate School of Business: Median - 730 ; Range 530-790
Kellogg School of Management : Average- 712
The Wharton School : Middle 80% Range 660-760 ; Average-715
MIT Sloan :Median- 710 ; Middle 80% Range 640-760


On a side note, I am waiting my CA exam results (next Thursday) hopefully I passed. Any advice on how to achieve such a great GMAT score? Based on the averages you have a great score.

You're definitely in the range and deloitte has strong reputation amoung B-schools. infact, Haas this year has more Deloittes than any other company from my understanding. I think you can give it a shot for both those schools.

I think your profile is good for all the top programs in the US, especially with the CA under your belt. Why not widen your choices to beyond just Northwestern or Wharton?

Also a top US degree can get you a job in Canada, but it might not be the case the other way around...so you should consider where you want to ultimately end up as well...
