Being on Waitlist all of last year for Kellogg, I hope I can help you guys.

School are divided into 2 catagories.

Show us you love us: Kellogg
Sit down, I don't want to hear from you freaking overachieving Type-A people: Wharton

For the latter, you can't do anything. Unless you know the dean or any previous american presidents (Canadian presidents don't count), you can't do anything. Just wait and hope that they are having a terrible round. In many ways you're the lucky ones, cuz....

The second time, 'Show us you love us' schools, you will need to do more work. First there usually is a question after you recieve the WL letter that ask if you want to remain on the waitlist, (I'm assuming yes). If that's the case, you are further put into 2 buckets, those who they have feedback for and those they don't. Either way you should be prepping a WL update later stating how you would like to remain on the waitlist and what you have done to strengthen your application.

While some people get in after only the initial update letter, and others get in after like hundreds of waitlist letters, it is really your call on how often you want to update with notable changes to your application. Get a promotion, updated, if you just joined a club for a week, that's questionable.

Hope this helps.
