Reco. letters from x employer

Hi everyone,

Novice gmatclubber here. I wonder if there is any of you out there who has submitted reco. letters from their former employers rather than submitting recos. from their current employers at the time of the application. (some of the recos or all of them... both works-)

I would also like to hear what you think about this situation in any case. Thank you.

I've been working at the same company since I graduated from college, so I got my letters from the current employer. However, I know my ex-coworker who got into HBS received her letters from the former employer (my company) after she left the firm.

If you left the firm within 1-2 years, it should be OK to receive the rec letters from the former employer. If longer, I believe schools would prefer to hear from your current employer. In any case, I'd make sure to get the letters from people who are willing to spend quality time and write you the best ones.

I got one from my previous employer, and it seems to have worked.

But I had one from my present employer too
