there's no doubt that the celtics and heat will be going to the playoffs. lebron james and bosch and shaq will be a tough team to beat. however i would like to see the suns come out and play more. i think steve nash has boatloads of potential, probably one of the best assist players of all time in the NBA in my opinion.

Last night's Nuggets vs Lakers game was no surprise. Kobe reigned terror as usual and Gasol is still keen with them little jump shots. Byrun is still a monster of a defensive and offensive rebounder.

As for Carmello (spelling) Anthony, not so good. I think he was like 5 for 16 last night. I wouldn't be surprised if he went to New York as I'm sure the Nuggets kinda don't want him anyways. Too much of an aggressive player. He takes way too many unecessary shots with no results and even for the easy open jumpers, he still can't connect. It's really players like that that end up making or breaking the team. I think if Anthony was on his game last night, it might have been a much more interesting game.

well that's our half-time report, back to you bakfed :P

Come playoff time, I don't think the Heat can get past the Celtics' defense.

Looking forward to a Lakers/Celtics final (although I wouldn't be surprised to see the Spurs in place of the Lakers).

Alex, what makes you feel that Celtics defense will overshadow Heat's offense? By the way, celtics playing lakers this sunday. That's gonna be a great game to watch!

Defenses tend to tighten up across the board come playoff time (in fact, it seems to be the case for most team sports, from football to baseball to hockey).

It's just an uneducated hunch on my part, but I think what will happen is that the Lebron/Wade/Bosh trio will push a little too hard to make plays during playoff time, which may be enough to get by the Bulls or Magic, but will not work against a seasoned and patient team like the Celtics. The Celtics will find a way to shut them down, and the Heat may not be disciplined enough to respond in a patient manner, causing turnovers.

disclaimer: I am not a Celtics fan.

celtics and the lakers will be a good game to watch most definitely.

i think shaq will be back so you know kobe will on the floor. it will be good to see what big baby, grey allen, and kevin garnett can bring to the table in terms of both defense and offense.

in terms of center players, i think celtics got the lakers beat but forward guard, lakers definitely have speed and agility against rondo.

who saw that celtics vs the suns game last night?

wow...Kevin Garnett and the coach got escorted out of the stadium?! what?! bad night for the celtics. funny how Garnett pretty much punched that other dude (sorry not a suns fan) in the growing...looks like it might have hurt. definitely a bad bad game for the celtics.

Watching the game now. The Celtics are kicking butt and the Lakers just begged themselves a foul.

wow, am i good or what?! haha.

A) Shaq came back to play regardless of his "injury"

B) Allen, Garnett, and Davis (big baby) BROUGHT IT

C) Celtics won.

I think I need to be next spokesperson for the NBA half-time report haha and get rid of that Heather Cox or whatever her name is :P

I just wish I had this much motivation to study for the GMAT as I do for the NBA :P

That was a fun game to watch, though it seems as if lakers just threw it all away during the 4th quarter. I think Kobe is an awesome player who can, obviously, shoot and score. But I think he still has a bit of immaturity in him in that he just keeps trying to score without passing the ball. He definitely helped the lakers gain some momentum during the 4th quarter, but he failed to continue scoring but still chose to not pass the ball. Anyway, it was a fun game to watch, as the game went up and down both ends of the spectrum.

I feel the same way. Laker's greatest flaw is that they don't really have teamwork as it's really a one or two man show, usually Kobe and/or Gasol. Byron is good but I think he lacks some communication issues.

On the other end of the spectrum, Celtics have a lot of unity and teamwork. Garnett, Robinson, Davis, Rondo, Shaq, Allen, Perkins, Pierce is just a really good team. You can tell by the way they play as opposed to the Lakers it's like once Kobe or Gasol has the ball it's pretty much done and you can expect them to shoot.

Just came across this thread right now while exploring the site a little deeper.. got to say I'm a big Bulls fan.. would be a dream come true to see the Bulls avenge themselves against the Celtics in the Eastern finals this year after the epic first round couple of years back. I think a fully fit Bulls team can definitely go all the way in the East this year.
