Please tell me about the chances of scholorships for MBA @ premiere institutes. I want to know how much one need to spend from his pocket

Depends on how strong your profile is and how likely that particular school is to give merit-based or need-based scholarships.

Hi neevat007, most top b-schools offer scholarships based on your merit (i.e. GMAT, GPA, essays). Depending on how the b-schools view and how much they want you, then they'll decide on how much scholarship to offer. There's no way that anyone can really gauge at your chances of receiving scholarship without knowing your stat, but even then, most of the time people still can't tell you because you just might fall in the middle of the pack. Traditionally speaking, people who receive scholarship generally speaking have over a 730 GMAT score (though that's no way a hard number). If I were you, I'd just apply and see where it takes you.

miguelmick, there are no schools that are more likely to give scholarship, but my guess would be lower-ranked, or regional b-schools, are more likely to provide scholarship. For top b-schools in the states, it's all pretty much based on your merit (GPA/GMAT, ECs, WE, essays, etc)
