So I stumbled upon this forum while reading and researching for GMAT/MBA.

Few questions, is an online MBA option worth it? Also, are schools requiring no GMAT worth it?

I am sure, will have plenty of follow up questions afterwards, thanks for all the help.

P.S: Asking above questions specific to school based in the states :)

HI,

Welcome

Online mba - It depends where you do it from. Top 10 Online MBA's in the world are definetly good i think

I think schools with no gmat are not worth it :)

Regards,
HK
Thanks very much HK, I appreciate it :)

Any idea or thoughts about schools which are online and cost less than $50K in terms of tuition? Are they worth it or no?

Of course, none of them are in top 10's though. Thanks again.

So looking at some of the online ones, are there any which I should avoid?

Southeast Missouri State University (Harrison)
West Texas A&M University
University of North Dakota
University of South Dakota
Mississippi State University
Texas A&M International University
Oklahoma State University (Spears)

Thanks for any advice and help.

Hi
Generally an online MBA is not worth. Since most companies do not give much value to them.
However, if you are working in a company in which you know someone who has done online MBA and has got some benefits, you are welcome to go for it.
Regarding the Gmat question, some schools accept Gmat or other test results also. For e.g. in India schools accept CAT for 2 year MBA programs and Gmat for 1 year programs. Similar may be the case in other countries. But definitely, Gmat widens the scope availability of application to colleges worldwide.

Thank you for your feedback and advice. You are very right about GMAT and scope of it.

Guess, I should work on GMAT first and then see what are my options.

I don't think an online MBA is worth it at all and if you're going out of the top 10 there's no chance persuing it. First take the gmat and then look at your chances

Thanks again. I appreciate your advice.

In terms of starting for GMAT prep, what should be a good starting point? Since, there's so much information and can be overwhelming :)

BTW, I am already in the states and only considering schools on the U.S. side.

Any thoughts on UIC online iMBA?
