infact you waste ur time on reading novels, read comics.
It depends upon one's nature and mood. Reading good novels isn't the waste of time at all. I hope the one who has experienced such a joy would never disagree.

For me as both an easy novel and a manga reader, I would say that the light novel has a better context and depth of key characters. For example, the light novel incorporates more thoughts than the manga itself. With the manga, it's clear that it focuses more on the actual story line than any character thinks. If you don't know what I mean, take her to Light novels and manga while I reincarnate a beauty with the colors of death. In the light novel, it has chapters where POV is transferred to other characters. More emotional context than just dialogue. A manga scene can be quite different from a light novel. So basically, the light novel has more information and thoughts on the protagonist than the manga. But the manga also has art and provides visualization, so I think so too.
