Thank you so much for sharing and speaking up. I know it is tough dealing with parents.
As a parent to children whom I try to motivate and get them to work hard, I can see myself in your parents, telling my kids to change before I would be willing to invest into them.... my expectations of them are high... at the same time, looking back, I am not sure I was an amazing achiever back in the day. My parents were kind to me but very busy at work and hardly had time to figure out what was happening with me. I think they were thankful I did not get into trouble and was low maintenance and actually did OK at school without their daily supervision (my guess their expectations were low).
I think the issue is the expectations that we have as parents or children. Now I need to figure out how to put any of this to work in my own life
P.S. Thank you again for sharing and telling your story. What are your plans this year? Does the story have a happy ending? Maybe?

If I get invited as a speaker from a particular school next year on GMAT Club Spotlight, we might have a happy ending. Things are in books. I really should delete this post. I think I was just up late tonight and was overwhelmed by all the thoughts.
I know that we all want something that the other has but in the entire process, I went through a tough time and developed a lot of headaches and migraines. It was never having a happy ending with the Business school, it was always about having a happy journey with the ones I care about. And I cannot see that happen anytime soon.
