No. However, in my case, I have already been through several personal blows and an Oscar or a tremendous professional triumph could make me feel better. But, if I could have everything perfect and have the option presented, I would say no. A professional triumph may add to my life (something I didn't have nor knew what felt like having) but a personal blow would take away something I already have, something I already knows feels and is great, and giving that up would not be worth it.

I don't think that I would enter into that exchange. Besides, this deal implies that I can turn down the offer and still have a chance to earn professional accolades on my own!

I wouldn't take that trade in a million years.

I think that having a successful relationship with another human being is one of those things that people will think about when they're on their death bed.

I totally agree with the statement above. I think, a personal relationship will help you overcome an obstacle in your professional career, but the same is not true the other way around. However that said, I think I can always deal with a professional/academic obstacle much more objectively and get over it much easier than a personal relationship break down. Emotions have never been my strong point.
