I'm interested in management consulting post-MBA.
I love strategy and from the research I've done I think that MC would be a good fit for me. However, I don't have any experience in the industry and I have very few friends or colleagues in the field...and while this forum has been a great resource...I'm looking for some books on the subject in order to gain a deeper understanding. I'm looking for books that go into detail about the industry, starting a career in MC, strategic theory, etc.
I've downloaded samples for the following books on my Kindle, but I wanted to get some feedback or suggestions for other books before I make a purchase...
---------------
- Management Consulting: A Complete Guide to the Industry (Sugata Biswas; Daryl Twitchell)
- The Boston Consulting Group on Strategy: Classic Concepts and New Perspectives
- The Consulting Bible (Alan Weiss)
- Strategic Safari (Bruce Ahlstrand)
- The McKinsey Way/Mind (Ethan M. Rasiel)
- McKinsey's Marvin Bower: Vision, Leadership, and the Creation of Management Consulting (Elizabeth Haas Edersheim)---------------
So if anyone has feedback on these books or others (or any resources for that matter), please share it here. I'm trying to get a better feel for the industry prior to starting BSchool and I want to make sure that it's really the place I want to go post-MBA.
Much appreciated,
MDF
