Does anyone have any experience that would allow them to compare American University grading versus German University grading? I have heard that German Universities are considerably harsher graders than American Universities; as a result of this, German students have lower GPA's than American Students. In other words, I have heard that an American student of a certain academic background and quality will usually have a higher GPA than a German student of exactly the same academic quality and background.
Why do you think that your conclusion about German University grading versus American University grading happens? How has this affected your professional career or further University applications?
To pursue my undergraduate education I went to Pace University, which I feel is really similar to most American Universities- hard but fair. Exams and assignments were hard and challenging so you would learn something but grading was fair so they would not cripple your GPA before releasing you into the tempestuous waters of the job-market.
