I would totally get the new MacBook or frankly even the old one. After years of using windows I got the MacBook Air for Travel and it has been superior to most windows laptops I owned… the battery life alone.
Switching to Apple has been a bit of a drag but after about two weeks of using it, you should probably get used to it. It took me a little while and I do miss some features like the rich copy paste feature in windows but I can live without it. I still use the windows computer for most of my work.
You will not really be at any disadvantage if you use a Mac. My guess is it probably half of your class will be using a Mac in business school. The integration of iMessage is very convenient as well as password sharing on the phone and the laptop…
I would definitely recommend it… just have to pick the size. I got the 13 inch and I feel its great size for Travel and very light but I kind of miss a bigger screen for serious work so I would definitely use an external monitor with it.
The part they used to annoy me with my windows laptops were the fans that would turn on and off it weird times. It’s pretty impressive that Apple has been able to pull it off with their processors.
