I am moving from London, where I have good credit, to New York where I have none.

Do not underestimate how much trouble this can cause someone. Fortunately my gf is American, and has good credit, which is saving me somewhere between $10-15k deposit on a rental property, even with my guarantors and everything.

However, this doesn"t diminish the stress of moving! Even with selling off a lot of things, I still feel like I'm swimming in boxes!

moving from the DC area to Madison, WI (assuming I gain admission)

it's about 850 miles but I have lots of family in Madison and lived there for 8 years growing up so it's not too foreign a place.

I'm living out of a weekly motel in Seattle until something becomes available (hopefully) by the end of the month. Probably scoured every piece of property within a five mile radius of the Peninsula only to discover that occupancy rates are currently hovering around 98~99%.

Oh yeah, just flew in from Tokyo and enjoyed a beef burito supreme from Taco Bell. Was really hankering for that good ol' americanized mexican dog food. :smoke
