This is for a JD/MBA, but the law schools are virtually even in the rankings.
- Primary interest is finance, probably something within investment banking like mergers and acquisitions.

Not sure this is a contest. Emory is much higher ranked in business. Unless money is an issue and Wash U is giving you a huge scholarship, I'd go with Emory.
IMHO, they are basically identical in terms of overall ranking and rep among recruiters, and the credentials of the incoming students are pretty close (with Wash U getting the nod there with median GMAT scores tending to be 10-20 points higher).
