Hi

I am 30 years old right now and I intend to do MBA or another masters degree in analytics from Canada or Europe next year when I would be 31 years old. Do they take in people that old over there in these courses?

Also, can you tell me that with the profile below can I get there anyway with a GMAT score of say 650+? In 2015, I did gave GMAT once without any preparation. I wasn't able to solve 4 questions at the end in QA and 3 questions at the end in VA and in the end, I got a dismal score of 550 which I canceled immediately. Only after the exam some one told me that GMAT penalizes people heavily for not completing the exam. Is this true?

My Profile (As of right now) :
Education:
Bachelors in Computer Engineering (B.E.) from Delhi University (61.34% ; Topper of my batch had an aggregate of near 80%) [Passed out in 2008]
Masters in Economics (2.82/4.00 GPA ; Average of 3.1/4 in the last year ; Topper had 4.0 GPA :sad: ) [Passed out in 2013]

Work-ex :
6 years up till now in software design and in marketing analytics (4 years). All in a small company at a low salary. I'm also a SAS certified programmer.

One last question : How can I convert my percentage to GPA?

Hi Rohit,
The average age for most business schools is around 28 years. But there are a lot of candidates well above the average age. In my class at Ivey too there were so many people above 30. Don't worry about this issue.

Yes its true. It is a rookie mistake and you should've known. Please research better before your next GMAT. If you're not into googling I suggest seek professional advise.
You have a good profile to get into any good business school in Canada and Europe. This questions is always very difficult to answer since admissions decisions is based on so many factors including but not limited to your GMAT score, work ex, previous industry, essays, interviews, etc.
Which schools are you targeting? To get into top 5 say IE, ESADE, Ivey, Rotman, etc. you need a GMAT of 700+. But you can still get into a decent school with 650 too. FYI MBA programs are much more competitive than Masters program of any school.

Thanks for your questions! Certainly there are people in top MBA programs at 31. It is not the majority- but there are people in the class at that age. As far as the intricacies of the GMAT test itself- I suggest you ask on the GMAT test part of this forum. I would not worry about converting your gpa- schools all have their own ways of looking at international grades. They want to see the actual transcript and they take it from there. If you think the grading scale at your school was very difficult- you could emphasize your class rank which may give a better idea of how you performed within your class.
