Hi,
Would be great if you could evaluate my profile

Age - 29 years
Undergrad-Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka(Probably the highest ranked uni in SL)
GPA-3.1
Work ex - 4+ Years
Other professional qualifications-CIMA(UK)-Exams complete
Martial Status - Single

Companies worked for -

1. For a multinational Apparal Manufacturing company in SL as an automation engineer,
managed to automate several processes saving the company considerable amount of cost.

2. For an Engineering Firm-
In charge of Developing renewable energy projects for the company-Secured the first solar plant for the company as an IPP and eventually added several other projects
Also work on Industrial Power Projects


Extracurriculars-
-University Athlete-Rugby/Wrestling with plenty of awards
-Toastmasters

Social work - not much.

Post MBA goals-
Short term-Would like to work in either Consulting or finance(preferably in Impact Investing)
Long Term-Probably start a venture in the Green business arena

GMAT-Targeting around 740(Not taken yet)
Also I got my Canadian PR recently, therefore I am wondering whether I should directly apply for a Canadian MBA or do one in US in try to leverage that to get a job in Canada

Looking for more an MBA with strength in Consulting/Finance , at the moment I am looking at
1. Ivey
2. Rotman
3. Yale-(like its focus on sustainability focus and the culture)
4. Tuck
5. UCLA

2. For an Engineering Firm-
In charge of Developing renewable energy projects for the company-Secured the first solar plant for the company as an IPP and eventually added several other projects impressive!
Also work on Industrial Power Projects

Post MBA goals-
Short term-Would like to work in either Consulting or finance(preferably in Impact Investing) Those are somewhat different goals-- I'd spend some time now parsing that out so that you can really be more focused when you apply. Now is a great time to spend some time on this -- and this is something that we do to help people-- we have a great methodology for helping people think through MBA goals.

You have listed many good ones-- I like Ivey and Rotman. You might look at Schulich too.

I think that Ivey is a great choice for consulting and they have such a strong case method environment that you would likely enjoy. I'm also a huge fan of Rotman-- I have several happy clients there. If you really want to go to Canada-- I'm not sure the US makes the most sense-- but certainly Yale has lots of social impact and like-minded people. Ross is a school that is really close to Canada! So that might be one to look at further as well. I will caution you that if you apply to Tuck-- don't tell them they are your favorite unless they really are-- they can be somewhat salty on that point if you say you want them and then go elsewhere. Of course that is good advice no matter what! It is a very stressful time for MBA admissions folks now too-- because so many people in their classes may not be able to get visas in time or may be reconsidering MBA programs in light of covid19-- so be kind to people you meet in the process as that will go a long way. I think overall from what I see here you have a lot of positives and that with good effort you can be a compelling candidate for many MBA programs.
