Hi EqualPaste
Understanding a few dynamics first would help you understand your score needed. Your profile (Male, Tech, Mgt Consultant) would be fairly common for MBA programs. Unless you offer a major differentiator in your profile, ISB has most likely taken quite a few such people in R1, and would be likely looking to fill in the class with more diversity.
A median GMAT score definitely does not offer that differentiator. Some of your research experience does, but much will depend upon how you are able to highlight their impact, and leverage these to strengthen your underlying theme/ narrative. Also given you would be applying late in the season, you won't have much time left to refine your Plan B. It will therefore be safer to apply with a HIGHER GMAT than a median score (needless to say, the higher the score, the better your odds).
Of course, this is assuming you are able to shape your narrative in a compelling manner, so that part of the application is strong, robust, and shows your understanding of the Why MBA clearly
Hope that helps. For a Free Assessment over a 1:1 call, please submit your profile

Hi everyone,
I am targeting the
Indian School of Business (ISB) PGP for the Class of 2028 and would really appreciate your feedback on my profile, particularly regarding the GMAT score I should target.
Profile:- Work Experience: 4 years as of August 2026, currently working as a Management Consultant at a multinational consulting firm. I have worked with clients across the retail, media, and logistics sectors.
- Education: B.Tech. in Biotechnology from IIT Roorkee, graduated in 2022 with Honors.
- Research Experience: During college, I completed research internships at Harvard University, Australian National University, and Fudan University.
- Graduation Percentage: 74%
- Higher Secondary (Class 12): 80.8%
I would especially appreciate insights on:
- How competitive my overall profile is for ISB PGP.
- What GMAT score range should I target to maximize my chances of getting an interview/admit?
- Are there any potential weaknesses or red flags in my profile that I should address through my application?
Any feedback from current ISB students, alumni, or applicants with a similar profile would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
