Ok, I am not applying for a couple years but I need help on achieving my goal here. Any help is appreciated. THANKS!
General
Age: Current 22 (Plan to enter MBA at 24-25)
US Citizen
Male
Education Will complete 2 undergraduate degrees and graduate degree in 4 years
BS in Finance & Economics at top 50 University (upper part)
GPA: 3.67 (With A+=4.3 So GPA would probably recalculate to a 3.5-3.6)
MS in Finance specialized in Corporate Financial Policy
GPA: Not Finished
GMAT 710 (39V/48Q) 6.0 AW
Work Experience
Currently only internships have to finish MS degree
Internship 1: Small RIA for 17 months
Internship 2: Regional Brokerage 5 Months
Job: University Tutor 2 years
Extracurricular
University Investment Group (leadership role)
Finance Association (leadership role)
5th place in a case competition
Fraternity (leadership role but no longer involved)
Professional fraternity (small leadership role but no longer involved)
Honor societies
Short/Long Term Goals
Work a few more years at a good investment firm.
Eventually open my own value investment firm (within 5 years of graduation)
Preferable in the South or East Coast
Schools I have a very narrow list
1) Columbia- for value investing program and good quality
2) Darden (Virginia)- case method, value investing conference, and in region I would like to work
Uniqueness
Will graduate with 2 undergraduate degrees and graduate degree all while having at least 1 job a semester (usually 2 and at one point 3 jobs) and being in an active investment management group (with various leadership roles)
I have known what I wanted to do for an extremely long time and have focused in on investing (specifically value investing)
Recommendations
I have 1 in mind. Others will have to come after I get a job
Gaps
Work experience (not done with school yet)
QUESTIONS & FEARS
1) Pedigree- I am not sure that I will get a high flying banking job coming out of school. I worry that may hurt me.
2) My GMAT score- I am debating on taking it again. I missed two problems on the 710 attempt and believe I can make a 730. I also took the test in 12/09 and am afraid my 5 years may run up before I get into school. Should I take it again or just not? Most schools require the score to be good when you enter. I plan on applying for Fall 2014 entry. This would put my score expiring 3 months after I enter (assuming I enter with 2 years experience)
3) Experience- Would 2 years experience at possible a regional bank be good enough?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

where do you want to go? Seeing your age and how you want to work only 2 years, you'd be on the younger side of town in your class. Harvard and Stanford are two schools that are more forgiving on the younger applicants, whereas Wharton and other top b-schools are still geared towards the 4-5 years of WE. The names matter to a certain degree, I believe, and the rest is up to how the AdCom sees it. A regional bank doesn't necessary mean that you won't gain the right type of experience. Perhaps you'll be promoted three times in the regional bank, with increasing responsibility and leadership, whereas your responsibility at a name-brand bank would be to analyze spreadsheet, and buy Starbucks coffee for people. Quality means a lot more, but spinning it on your application will take some deep thoughts as well.
My recommendation for you is to focus on graduating with as high of a a GPA as possible and to land a job that you'll enjoy. Do all of these without thinking too much of what's going to happen in 2014. Truth is, there's just too many variables in life and you can't plan for all of them. I wouldn't worry too much about your 2014 applications just yet. Do keep in mind that you will be borderlining your GMAT expiration date come 2014 if you take it this year. If you plan to re-take it some time later, also keep in mind that the GMAT format will change in 2012, so you'll have to add in the additional prepping time.
