Hi All,
I will start at a top15 school this fall and I want to transition from a career in non-profit into consulting. I have no business background, so I'm a bit worried about being ready for consulting recruiting while keeping up with classes.
I want to do everything I can in the next 2 months to be ready; the problem is, I don't know exactly what that looks like.
Right now, I'm looking at the Couresera Business Foundations specialization from Wharton which includes:
- Intro to Financial Accounting
- Intro to Marketing
- Intro to Corporate Finance
- Intro to Operations Management
- Managing Social and Human Capital
Would all or some of these courses help? Should I be looking at different courses, books, or resources?
Apart from the business knowledge, I have begun looking into consulting specific books/resources, though I've been told to NOT teach myself (better to wait for the MBA to start so I don't build bad habits).
Thoughts?
