Hi everyone,
I am a management consulting professional from India with 4+ years of experience with global firms such as Accenture and BCG. I have a strong educational background and a fairly high GMAT score. I am thinking of pursuing MBA from the US and wanted to understand possible career options post MBA. While I am fine with consulting, I am quite keen to explore the Tech sector. I want to understand how easy or difficult it is for a pre-MBA consultant to transition into Tech firms (e.g. Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc.) Also, what are the roles that former consultants can usually target in these firms?

Welcome to GMATclub. Everything is possible if you work smartly in right direction. Please share your GMAT score and details about your profile. What are your targeted schools? You can do transition to another industry in 2 year MBA because you get a chance to do internship. You will get a chance to showcase and prove your skills. Nothing is easy and you need to do following:
Before submitting your application, you should have a clear plan on how to do it?
Find people who already did and mention their examples in your application.
Find the schools which are strong in Tech Industry.
After admit, you need to be more focused on Tech clubs, meetings, networking etc.
The roles are generally - rotational programs, product management, marketing, consulting, etc.
