Background: Indian Civil Engineer (69.3% in UG) with 7 years experience (Age - 28), preparing for GMAT - what score to target??
I will move to the UK in Sept 23 on a dependent visa and have further plans to pursue an MBA from a top university.
Please guide me on what sort of occupation should I pursue after landing in the UK. Should I continue my career in Civil Engineering or explore other management jobs?
What should be my approach to make my MBA application profile stronger, given my current scenario?

Hi. Congratulations on your move to the United Kingdom.
I think the score over 700 would make you comfortable but to have the best chances a higher score is better such as above 720 especially if you are from an over represented demographic such as male Asian engineer. 740 in the bath would be ideal.
In terms of your career, and what job you should take, I think I wouldn’t worry about business school. Anyone can attend regardless of their undergraduate degree or their work experience. Your goal should be to stand out among your peers. The best way to accomplish that is to pursue a job with a passion. If you could be more successful in civil engineering and be highly successful then go for that. On the other hand if you’re really tired and bored of it and it will be a mundane job, consider another path. However, if you are applying in the fall or even in the winter, I think it hardly matters because you would have worked for just a few months at that point. If you’re applying next year, it would be at least something…

However, I am still worried about my low gpa - upper second class for UK (69.3%).
Any tips on making my profile stronger to compensate for the low gpa (apart from GMAT > 700)?
