Hi,

In choice D, I can eliminate the phrase/clause between the 2 commas. Doing this keeps the sentence perfect.

Also, option C, IMO, is not structured properly because the first half talks about the cat & suddenly second half starts talking about purring noise.

So I chose to go with option D as the correct one.

Any mistakes with my approach?

Although shows contrast so whatever comes after although must show contrasting relationship, further the correct idiomatic usage of although is - Although x , y

Correct idiomatic usage of related is - Related to

Hence the option (C) is correct in all respect...
