Even though I correctly marked it as C, I don’t feel satisfied with the answer choice. To me, it is the least bad choice.

Question for folks: Per my notes, in the “If .. Then ...” Construction, if the IF clause is in present tense, THEN clause is in future tense. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case here. Am I missing something?

Thanks

Using a computer model to estimate future productivity, the accuracy of such an estimate is higher than that achieved using more subjective methods.

A. Using a computer model to estimate future productivity
- here, the first clause is an -ing clause that modifies the word that immediately succeeds the comma. However, in this case, the word ''accuracy'' cannot take/perform the action described by the -ing clause.

B. By the use of a computer model to estimate future productivity
- ''By the use of a computer model..., the accuracy... is higher'' - this does not make any sense.

C. If a computer model is used to estimate future productivity - has no error. Hence, (C) is the right answer choice.

D. With a computer model for estimating future productivity
- (D) implies that the ''accuracy'', alongside with the ''with'' prepositional phrase, increases the estimate value; this does not make any sense.

E. Estimating future productivity with a computer model
- has the same error as described in (A).
