C is wrong because Although and nonetheless cannot come together. It causes redundancy issues. It is similar to Although Clause 1, BUT Clause 2.

Since Although itself means contrast, using above construction makes it redundant.

Does that make sense?

Could you please help me to understand the structure of option D. 
Per my understanding- clause 2 is DC, so Claus 1 has to be IC, but "," after Greg created confusion for me.

You need to understand the definition of a clause. A clause MUST have a subject and a verb. If you don't have either, it is not a clause. It is a phrase/modifier.

Now, option D is using a modifier "feeling bored and dejected" which is separated by two commas such that if you remove this piece of information, your sentence will become "Greg was able to finish the task in time nonetheless." where the Subject is "Greg" and the Verb is "was able to finish". "feeling bored and dejected" modifier is referring to Greg.

Does that make sense?

Thanks for the reply.
But my understanding is that a 
conjunctive adverbs ( nonetheless - here) are used to connect two clauses but here that is not happening as there is only one clause.

Nonetheless , here, is used to denote a contrast and it is very well explaining that.

The meaning of the sentence is"Although this guy is feeling tired, he completed some stuff on time.".

Hence, I donot see any issues with the meaning of the sentence.

P.S: Relying only on the Grammatical rules isn't a good practice.
