A) Is Wrong because that cannot be confidently states is modifying the jury making the sentence sound awkward.
B) is Wrong because of the same reason as A
C)is Wrong because of the placement of murder of Colin Sweeney.Placing it near to jury gives the meaning that Jury is the murder of colin Sweeney
D) is the correct answer 
E) is wrong because of the same reason as A and B

Correct me if i am wrong!

In all the 3 options above  that   (highlighted) is modifying the jury. This construction is incorrect.

This seems to say that the name of the jury is  the murder of Colin Sweeney  :>

Incorrect

This is left and hence is the correct choice. The that at the end is omitted and the construction is correct.

Options A,B,C and E incorrectly refers to the jury who are confidentially stated instead of the murder being confidentially stated, so option D is correct and Concise.

Hi everyone. Probably I'm being paranoiac after so many SC. Is possible to understand that the jury committed the "accident"? I suppose I'm wrong but I had that doubt when I was reading the alternatives.

Hi  rinkumaa4 , this is one of those  rare  cases where the  antecedent  (whatever  it  refers to) appears  after  the pronoun  it .

D says:

It cannot be confidently stated that the murder of Colin Sweeney is unlikely to be seen as an accident by the jury .

Here,  it  refers to  that the murder of Colin Sweeney is unlikely to be seen as an accident by the jury .

Basically the sentence is:

It (that the murder of Colin Sweeney is unlikely to be seen as an accident by the jury) cannot be confidently stated.
