During a trial, if the Judge senses any danger to the witness, he can command that the witness recorded the statement in absence of the accused, and in presence of only the Judge, the prosecutor, and the defence counsel.

A) the witness recorded the statement in absence of The command subjunctive requires the use of the verb in its base form - the correct usage is "record the statement...". Eliminate.

B) the witness records the statement in absence of Same error as (A). Eliminate.

C) the witness record the statement in absence of Correct answer.

D) the witness’s statement is recorded in absence of While there is no grammatical error in this option, this uses the passive voice. We have answer option (C) in active voice, with the same meaning and no errors. Hence that is preferred. Eliminate.

E) a witness records one’s statement in absence of Same error as (A) and (B). Eliminate.

Hope this helps.
