The correct construction is : Both X and Y; X and Y should be parallel.
X = for its razor-sharp teeth
Y must start with "for"
Only D and E meet this criteria. Eliminate A, B and C.
Now, look for the comparison.
razor-sharp teeth should be compared with an alligator's teeth and not an alligator.
This eliminates E as well.
Hence D is correct.
