Correct Usage
Both X and Y; X and Y should be parallel.

both for its is parallel with and for its
Eliminate A, B, and C

A. more powerful than an alligator's, and its
Eliminate

B. more powerful than an alligator, and its
Eliminate

C. as powerful as an alligator's, and its
Eliminate

Predator's bite is compared with alligator's bite.
Correct

Choice D is the answer.

Official explanation:

(D) Option D properly compares the bite of Predator X with the bite of an alligator. Options B and E compare Predator X's bite with an alligator, and these are not logical comparable. Option A, B, and C break parallelism. The construction Both M and N requires symmetry in M and N. Since we were given that Predator X was feared both for its teeth... we must conclude that it was also feared for its bite. Predator X may have been feared for both its teeth and its bite, but unfortunately that was not one of the options
