Rice and noodles forms the basis of Japanese cuisine, and one is expected to eat what one is served as a part of dining etiquette.


A. forms the basis of Japanese cuisine, and one is expected to eat what one is served as a part of dining etiquette
form is the right usage therefore out

B. forms the basis of Japanese cuisine, and as a part of dining etiquette one is expected to eat what one is served
Similar reasoning as A and in addition to that as a part inclusion is not conveying the right meaning therefore out

C. form the basis of Japanese cuisine, and one is expected to eat what one is served as a part of dining etiquette
The meaning is perfect therefore let us hang on to it

D. form the basis of Japanese cuisine, and one is expected to eat what they are served as a part of dining etiquette
They addition in the middle is creating ambiguity as it's not giving the right meaning therefore out

E. form the basis of Japanese cuisine, and one is expected to eat what he is served as a part of dining etiquette
How can be narrow down the gender , not possible therefore out

Therefore IMO C
