This is an unusual construction, but 'comes' is indeed correct.
"Fun" and "excitement" are uncountable nouns. I can say surfing is more fun than skiing, but I can't really quantify that.
So "much" here is talking about an amount of these abstract nouns, and such a construction takes the singular, even though 'fun' and 'excitement' are two things.
"Much of the sand and seaweed moved by ocean currents ends up on beaches around the world."
I can't count 'sand' or 'seaweed' (I can count GRAINS of sand or PIECES of seaweed, but this sentence is talking about the 'abstract ideas' of sand and seaweed. So those concepts can't be counted).
Just remember a subject "Much of ______" will be singular!
