Option A) ---> Indicates idiom as action "who were running against the time" --> eliminated
Option B) ---> Indicates idiom as adjective "who race against the time to destroy" --> eliminated
Option C) ---> Indicates idiom as idiom "race against the time to destroy" --> Answer
Option D) ---> Indicates idiom as idiom "raced against the time to destroy, while" --> I understand the sentence is correct idiomatically but with a while, the 2 clauses must be parallel in time. Suppose "The phone rang while I was doing the dishes" --- > eliminated
