As per this ,classical scholars were mentioned in P's dialogue.
Not sensible.

Same reason as A

Same as A
E. Although Plato mentioned it in his dialogues
Here it is a pronoun refers to the noun legend of Atlantis.
Also , after although GMAT prefers a clause. Again this is a preference not a rule.
So E.

OFFICIAL EXPLANATION
Answer: E.
The modifying phrase logically refers to Atlantis, not classical scholars. Only choice E rectifies this error by adding the pronoun “it” to the modifying phrase and turning the phrase into a dependent clause.
