In my opinion, one of the problems with alternative (E) is that "hairless" is hanging in the sentence. I don't see a clear connection between this adjective and a noun.
During my reasoning, another problem was the lack of the adjective "tick" modifying hair. For me, this lack changes the intended meaning provided in alternative (A).
