I was going through the GMATCLUB Grammar book when this piqued my interest. just thought of sharing what I found about the usage of "fast".

There is no need for "fastly" since "fast" is both an adjective and an adverb.
The adverb form of "fast" is irregular. Other examples of similar adverbs include "hard" and "good".
