Neither a sharp intellect nor a willingness to work hard, by itself, guarantees a student’s success in college. Both are required because students with sharp intellects can be overwhelmed by the amount of work they take on and students with a willingness to work hard may take classes that are too difficult for them. Thus, the proper measure of a student’s ability to do well in college is the ability to___________________.

Which of the following best completes the passage above?

A. select a schedule of classes that is not too difficult and has a manageable amount of work
B. work harder at classes that are more difficult
C. choose easy classes regardless of the amount of work required for them
D. avoid classes that are too difficult or too lengthy
E. take difficult classes that involve little to no work

there are two points discussed int he argument ie the hard work and the intellect.
to get good grades a student must choose deligently from the classes which involve manageable work and the class which is not very difficult.

Option A:Correct answer as per the given argument.
Option B:dificult claases require higher intellect rather than hard work.
Option C:easy classes will be too easy and will have higher competition.
Option D:avoiding the classes that are too lengthy or difficult is to extereme.
Option E:again it will not do justice to both type of students.
