The amount of time it takes for Gansett Company to put together its wooden coat racks has decreased as it has installed robots on the assembly line. Given the comparative slowness of its human workers, Gansett Company may be forced to lay off most of its employees, which would be disastrous for the local economy.
Which of the following plans, if feasible, would allow Gansett Company to retain most of its workers without losing money?
A. The company will offer training to certain employees eight years after they were first hired.
B. The company will soon replace its assembly line robots with more efficient models.
C. The company will conduct a survey to assess its workers' employment prospects in other industries.
D. The company will hold a series of lectures to inform its workers on the probable consequences of its updated assembly line.
E. The company will implement a line of artisanal wooden coat racks made and signed by its human workers.

Hi,

This question throw me a grey area of doubt. the option e says that he company will implement arsenal wooden coats racks made and signed by its human worker, though, this will help retaining the workers but it will harm the company as: after sometime the count of the arsenal wooden coats rack will reach the saturation point and then there will be no production of the same. then the company has to spend double amount.

While solving CR questions we must focus on the task we want to achieve and must not think about all possible out come if that goal achieved. As in this case we want to find out an option which give us a reason to retain most employee. Option E gave that reason. Now regarding the outcome of it. May be what you are saying is correct or may be they have to hire more people cause this new product is very much appreciated by public. but this part is an open ended question. In Gmat We have to find the best answer choice and in this case this one is the best choice. but if there is an option which is saying something on the line that retain the employee at the same time showing profit for the company, probably that case would be better. In the end your goal is to look for 4 in correct choice and one best answer not the perfectly correct ans. Hope it will be helpful.
