Mike03,

What is the source of this question? I can provide an explanation once I know the source!

As a side note, make sure to include your source moving forward!

Thanks,

Mod Nightblade

Hi Nightblade,

I did include the source as self-made in the tags while posting.

When I checked there weren't tags. I added them just to be safe! Glad you are taking a shot at making your own!

Decisions based on logical consistency are considered as objective truths. But a few people argue that what seem like objective truths are just helpful cognitive tricks that we have stumbled on and that we have been selected for those cognitive habits without reference to their wider truths. Which of the following, if true, most seriously undermines the argument?

A. Not all of our everyday decisions are made on rational thinking.
B. One can’t make the argument without relying on logical arguments.
C. The people arguing the credibility of objective truths are in minority and can be neglected.
D. 20 times 20 is equal to 400 is simple statements of truth.
E. The logical reasoning varies from case to case basis, hence cannot be generalized.

Try to negate option (B), the entire conclusion shatters...

Hello Abhishek009,
Please correct me if I'm wrong. I think using B(not negated) the argument will shatter and that is called a weakener.
