Trend:
1. Journalists (J) use views (unsupported or false) of news makers. Past = Present
2. J question the views less now. Past > Present
Identify the option, which does not provide a justification:
A. This suggests a monetary angle because of which J don't challenge the views anymore
B. J are themselves not aware, sot hey are unable to challenge the views
C. J also share the same views, and do not challenge their own views
D. Correct. It draws the attention of public good, even challenging will have the same effect, as the view is already present. If the view in question is present, then it would not decrease the attention of the public by either endorsing that view or challenging that view
E. J fear that they would be criticized, and therefore, do not challenge the views
Please let me know if my understanding is incorrect.

so out of given options we need to find the one which is not on lines to the argument :
(A) Newspaper publishers have found that many readers will cancel a subscription simplybecause a view they take for granted has been disputed by the publication: reason why J dont dispute on claim fear of losing subscribers . ok
(B) The areas of knowledge on which journalists report are growing in specialization and diversity, while journalists themselves are not becoming more broadly knowledgeable. : lack of awareness/ knowledge of J so they are not in a position to have debate on facts of news makers.. ; ok
(C) Persons supporting controversial views more and more frequently choose to speak only to reporters who seem sympathetic to their views. ; newsmakers feel more comfortable with J who are sympathtic to thier views and J wont go on validate veracity of their quotations .. ok
