B. Lotta may have come out of her shell because of accomplishments at her new job. - WRONG. Strengthener. But still she has made new friends.
C. Lotta may not have very close relationships with any of these new friends. - WRONG. Does not affects the argument.

What is cause based on the argument: Lotta came out of her shell.
Effects According the argument: Lotta has made a lot of new friends.
The best criticism will be one that reverses the cause and effect relationship. What if it is because Lotta made new friends that made her to come out of her shells? This is exactly what answer Choice A states. So if she made came out of her shells because she made new friends is the best criticism.
Option A is therefore the answer in my view.
