Conclusion: It is fairly clear that such oversight is insufficient and that many herbal remedies should be treated by the FDA as medicines.

Support that FDA should treat herbal remedies as meds

(A) Herbs often contain antioxidants and essential oils that provide anti-inflammatory relief. - that's a good thing then why treat them as meds. Doesn't justify.

(B) Burdrock apparently has a certain diuretic property that helps the body to expel toxins. - Ok, tbh I didn't know what Burdrock was. Even if it's a herb, the stmt supports that its not dangerous.

(C) Up tp 80 percent of some Asian and African cultures rely on herbal remedies in part for healthcare.- Majority of some Asian and African cultures use some herb. - Okay. Whether or not it should be treated as medicine is unclear. Doesn't justify enough.

(D) Certain herbal remedies increase heart rate, which can be lethal for cardiac patients. - "Oh crap I'm a heart attack patient and ate few herbs. That herb's gonna kill me. They should put some label or standards for that thing. :dazed " Well, there you go.

(E) A variety of industrial plants are grown expressly to be used in modern prescription medicines. - Doesn't affect the conclusion.
