Let’s proceed to the answer choices armed with this characterization and prepared to eliminate any answer with a conclusion that doesn’t match.
(A) has an easy-to-find conclusion (beginning with “so”), but that conclusion is a prediction; it does not reject one potential cause in favor of another. Eliminate.
