Oak: Why do they only water us twice a week? We should be watered as much as possible!

Willow: I prefer it this way. I don't feel that good when I get too much water.

Which of the following, if true, most strengthens the willow's objection to the oak's claim?

A. The most effective time to water outdoor plants is at night since evaporation can be avoided this way. :-Irrelevant

B. Being the most vital life source, water, or a lack of it, can greatly affect a plant's health. This ha nothing to do with Willow claim

C. Animals rely on water just as much as plants do, and can sometimes dehydrate, especially during the dry seasons.Extra information

D. Excessive irrigation prevents a tree from being able to breathe through its roots.Excessive irrigation affects the way trees breathe and very well address the concern of Willow tree

E. Municipalities spend large amounts of money on water needed to maintain public gardens and streetside foliage.Irrelevant

Ans D

Willow objects to be watered as much as possible.
Why?
There must be some disadvantage of being watered excessively.

Let's scan through the choices.

A. The most effective time to water outdoor plants is at night since evaporation can be avoided this way.
The willow did not question the effective time to water (but to be watered excessively).
B. Being the most vital life source, water, or a lack of it, can greatly affect a plant's health.
The willow did not reject the usefulness of water, but just wanted to object the idea of excessive watering.
C. Animals rely on water just as much as plants do, and can sometimes dehydrate, especially during the dry seasons.
The willow did not reject the usefulness of water, but just wanted to object the idea of excessive watering.
D. Excessive irrigation prevents a tree from being able to breathe through its roots.
Correct and in-line with prethinking.
E. Municipalities spend large amounts of money on water needed to maintain public gardens and streetside foliage.
Is the Willow concern about the money spent by the municipalities?
No.
Willow just says "I don't feel that good when I get too much water."
It implies - Spend too much money or not. I don't care. Just don't give me too much water.

Which of the following, if true, most strengthens the willow's objection to the oak's claim?

A. The most effective time to water outdoor plants is at night since evaporation can be avoided this way. -> Irrelevant.

B. Being the most vital life source, water, or a lack of it, can greatly affect a plant's health. -> Doesn't relate with Willow's claim "not to get excess water". Incorrect.

C. Animals rely on water just as much as plants do, and can sometimes dehydrate, especially during the dry seasons. -> Irrelevant.

D. Excessive irrigation prevents a tree from being able to breathe through its roots. -> Excess watering can cause damage to plant. Now, Willow's claim seems right. Let's keep it.

E. Municipalities spend large amounts of money on water needed to maintain public gardens and streetside foliage. -> Irrelevant.

So, I think D. :)
