Identify the premises of the argument. In this example, a) Going Transport had two of its Strongmade mini busses involved in accidents in two weeks, which led to b) Going Transport purchased two more Strongmade mini busses as replacements.
Identify the conclusion. Industry experts were surprised because companies are usually less likely to purchase a product when it has been involved in accidents.
What is needed in this argument to make it convincing? What is needed here is a reason as to why Going Transport would opt to replace its crashed mini buses with Strongmade mini buses, given the fact that two of the mini buses manufactured by them have been in accidents within a two week span.
Eliminate the answer choices that do not answer the question why did the decision of the Going Transport Company to purchase replacement mini busses from Strongmade make solid business sense? Although the question itself does not fit the supply the assumption type easily, the answer choice is quite clear. Choice C fills the gap in the logic of replacing vehicles that crashed with ones from the same manufacturer by stating that the accidents themselves were due to driver error, and if the mini busses had not been of such exceptional quality, serious injuries could have occurred.
